The primary objective of this study is to assess the effectiveness of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) as compared to corticosteroid injection (CSI) therapy used for the management of acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) dysfunction. Because definitive conclusions on the value of one treatment over the other are lacking, clinical trials like the proposed study are of great importance. The findings from this trial will help provide stronger evidence from which to guide optimal care of AC joint pathology. The superiority of one over the other is currently unknown.
