Campylobacter is a major human pathogen that infects an estimated 2.5 million people each year resulting in anestimated $1.9 billion economic loss in the U.S. Campylobacter jejuni is a common human enteric pathogen thatcauses acute enterocolitis and increases the risk of developing long-term intestinal dysfunction such as post-infectious irritable bowel syndrome. The innate immune mechanisms responsible for intestinal pathology in C.jejuni-induced colitis are still poorly understood.

The major goals of this project is to determine the mechanisms used by M.tb to persist in the macrophage environment via its activation of host PPAR?. The studies herein represent the next steps to elucidating the role of eicosanoids, critical players at the interface of inflammation and metabolism, in M.tb survival and growth and provide a foundation for the transition to in vivo models of TB. Basic Research

These are combined Phase 2B/3, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled studies evaluating the efficacy and safety of filgotinib in the induction and maintenance of remission in subjects with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis.

Safety and Efficacy Trial of RPC1063 for Moderate to Severe Ulcerative Colitis. The objectives of this trial are to demonstrate the efficacy of RPC1063 versus placebo on induction of clinical remission and maintenance therapy on clinical remission. The trial is composed of 2 periods: Induction and Maintenance. Patients will be entered into the trial in 2 separate cohorts through the Induction Period and those patients in clinical response at the end of the Induction Period will proceed through to the Maintenance Period.
