This is a multicenter, Phase IIb, randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled study designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of two Aramchol doses in subjects that are 18 to 75 years of age, with Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) confirmed by liver biopsy performed in a period of 6 months before entering the study, with overweight or obesity and who are pre diabetic or type II diabetic.

Eligible subjects will be enrolled into three treatments arms: Aramchol 400 and 600 mg tablets and placebo tablets in ratio 2:2:1.

Aberrant activation of the B cell receptor (BCR) is an emerging hallmark of mature B cell tumors. The BCR initiates a signaling cascade that activates multiple kinases, including SYK, BTK and PI3K?, leading to engagement of the NF-?B, PI3K/AKT, RAS and MAPK pathways, thus promoting proliferation/survival of B cells. Considering this pro-growth outcome, it is not surprising that malignant B cells hijack this signaling module for their benefit.

Basic Research

Protein and membrane trafficking depends on choreographed reactions which deform membranes and sequentially assemble and disassemble protein complexes. Hsp70s--the ubiquitous chaperones involved in protein folding and many cellular protein processing reactions--function as motors in trafficking processes such as translocation of proteins into ER and mitochondria, and disassembly of the clathrin coats that form around nascent endocytic vesicles.

Oxidative stress increases with age and likely contributes to a variety of age-related diseases, but the processes by which oxidative stress causes cellular damage and contributes to aging and its associated pathologies are not completely understood. This proposal seeks to study the role of atypical tyrosine isomers, which differ from endogenous tyrosine in the positioning of their hydroxyl group on the benzyl ring, in the harmful effects of oxidative stress.

Basic Research

The purpose of this study is to compare performance characteristics of a standard Bag-Valve-Mask (BVM) and a standard BVM with the addition of an after-market handle designed to assist with one handed ventilation through measurement of delivered tidal volume and percentage of delivered breaths in the optimal tidal volume range (500-700 ml) or a volume large enough to cause chest rise in a manikin model.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a highly malignant brain tumor type with 14 months average patient survival, high incidence of recurrence and no effective line of treatment. Genomic analyses became an essential resource to understand the molecular alterations that cause cancer. In the case of GBM, analysis of hundreds of samples produced an extensive transcriptomic map, identified prevalent mutations and defined important tumor drivers. Unfortunately, clinical trials based on these results have not yet delivered positiv outcomes.

Applied Research

This Phase 2, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, multicenter study, with an open-label LTSE, will evaluate the effect of Obeticholic Acid, and the subsequent addition of statin therapy, on lipoprotein metabolism in subjects with NASH with fibrosis stage 1 to 4, but no evidence of hepatic decompensation
